Tremble meets Q and is taken through an underground workshop and training area deliberately reminiscent of Q Branch in the EON Productions series of James Bond films. Lynd waylays his concerns by granting him the new identity of James Bond 007 and sends him to the 'James Bond 007 training school'. He accepts her proposal to play against Le Chiffre using her money, splitting the winnings 50-50, but is concerned that Le Chiffre will refuse to play him, given that he has read his book. There, Lynd quizzes Tremble on his Baccarat system and his knowledge of Le Chiffre, whilst encouraging him to change into a series of outfits, including Adolf Hitler, Toulouse Lautrec and Napoleon Bonaparte. Lynd makes contact with Tremble at the Buckingham Club and invites him to her room under the pretence of reading his book, Tremble On Baccarat. Having embezzled SMERSH's money, Le Chiffre is desperate for money to cover up his theft before he is executed. During Casino Royale, the head of the British Secret Service, Sir James Bond, hires Vesper Lynd to recruit baccarat expert Evelyn Tremble, whom he intends to use to beat SMERSH agent Le Chiffre.
